Quality Web Content and Its Effect on the Travel Industry

In this competitive business world, a business must achieve success with their consumers in order to remain viable.  In order for a business to achieve success in their field, it is critical that they not only deliver highly desirable products or services, but also that they keep their consumers well informed about who they are and what they do.  Consumers who are tech-savvy, as most individuals are today, are attracted to businesses with good online reputations, and quality web content has become increasingly important to a business’ ability to establish and maintain a good online reputation and draw in consumers.  This is certainly true in the travel industry, where quality web content has been proven to drive up revenue.  But how can it do this?

Quality Web Content and Travel Industry Revenue

Speedie Consultants Limited recently published a survey that indicates that ninety percent of individuals booking holidays do so online, and that more than seventy-eight percent of these individuals use online travel comparison sites.  The remaining consumers use a travel operator’s website or book directly with their hotel of choice.

When asked what attracts them to a specific hotel, nearly eighty percent of consumers indicated that both the description and images on the website are important.  Nearly thirty percent indicated that watching a video describing the hotel assisted them in deciding whether to book.  Nine percent used online reviews to help determine whether a hotel would be suitable for their purposes or not.

Thirty-two percent of consumer respondents indicated that they found a hotel’s website too difficult to navigate. Another twenty percent indicated some concern about a website’s security.  This further indicates the vital importance of establishing and maintaining a website with high-quality content.

How Does Web Design Help?

A well-designed website with high-quality content is attractive, easy to navigate and informative.  When consumers approach travel industry websites, they want solutions and knowledge so they feel confident in booking their holiday.  If a website lacks content, consumers might decide that website isn’t trustworthy.  On the other hand, a website that provides travel tips and a clear insight into the business’ policies, procedures, services and reputation can allow consumers to book with confidence, tell their friends, and return in the future.

You want your website to have everything a consumer is in need of, not just for your benefit, but for theirs as well. Businesses strive to help their customers, in every way possible. Building solid relationships with your clients by giving them an organized, and stocked website with everything they need. And with these relationships then comes positive reviews and a branding that will result in higher profits!
